It Starts With a Consultation

Before any treatment, we sit down face to face. I'll ask about your medical history and what's bothering you when you look in the mirror. I'll also want to hear what you'd like to achieve, and just as importantly, what you don't.

This is also when we decide together whether treatment is suitable for you. Some people leave the consultation ready to go ahead, and some want time to think. Both are completely fine.

Upper Face

This is what most people think of when they think about anti-wrinkle treatment. Common areas of concern include the forehead, the frown lines between the brows and the lines around the eyes.

Everyone's face and facial movement are different, so treatment is tailored to you. The aim is a subtle, natural-looking result that still looks like you, just fresher and more rested.

Lower Face

Not everyone's main concern is the top half of the face. The lower face, jaw and neck are also areas that people sometimes ask about during their consultation.

Depending on your individual anatomy and concerns, we may discuss areas such as:

Lines and wrinkles around the mouth and chin
The masseter muscles around the jaw
Downward pull around the corners of the mouth
The appearance of the jawline
Platysma bands in the neck

Everyone's face and muscles are different, so what's appropriate for you is something we talk through at your consultation. The aim is always a subtle, natural-looking refresh rather than changing the way you look.

The Smaller Areas

There are also a few smaller areas that clients sometimes ask about:

Smokers' lines and lip lines: the fine vertical lines that can appear around the mouth. You may also have heard of treatments such as a “lip flip”.
Bunny lines: the little scrunch lines across the top of the nose that can show when you smile or laugh.

Whether treatment is suitable for these areas depends on your individual anatomy and what you're hoping to achieve, so we'll discuss this properly during your consultation.

Results Aren't Instant

Anti-wrinkle treatment doesn't work the moment you leave the clinic. You may start to notice a change within a few days, with the effect continuing to develop afterwards.

So if you look in the mirror that evening and think, “nothing's happened”, that's completely normal.

We'll explain what to expect and provide appropriate aftercare advice before you leave.

Your Two-Week Review

I like to see you around two weeks after your appointment, once everything has had time to settle.

It's a chance to check how you're getting on, assess your results and discuss whether anything further needs to be considered.

I'd rather you feel looked after than left to wonder.

How Long Does It Last?

Results vary from person to person, but the effects of anti-wrinkle treatment are temporary and will gradually reduce over time.

Many clients choose to return when they feel the effects are wearing off, and we can talk about what timing is appropriate for you at your review.
